Jul 15 (Japan Today) - The Kanagawa Prefectural Police said Friday that two bodies found in suitcases in a mountainous area in the prefecture's Hadano City on Thursday are those of two Chinese sisters who were reported missing earlier this month.
The bodies were found partially decomposed in two separate pieces of luggage in a mountain forest in Hadano late Thursday night. Authorities believe they had been dead for at least a couple of days.
The bodies were identified as Chen Baolan, 25, and Chen Baozhen, 22, police said. The sisters were registered residents of Yokohama.
According to police, surveillance camera records show a man entering the sisters' apartment building late on the evening of July 6 and leaving with two suitcases the next day. The man, who is believed to be a customer at a restaurant where one of the sisters was working, is of Japanese nationality and in his 30s.
