Jul 19 (Japan Today) - A pub owner in Sapporo has been arrested for allegedly inflicting burns on a male patron, using a hairspray as a flamethrower, police said.
"I did it to wake up a sleeping patron and get him to leave the bar. I played a trick on him because it would not be fun to wake him up in a normal way," the suspect Kazuaki Yamazaki was quoted by the police as telling investigators.
Yamazaki, 31, who runs a pub in the capital of Hokkaido, is alleged to have used the propellant in the hairspray to direct a flame at a 22-year-old man at around 4:30 a.m. Monday, leaving him with burns on his abdomen and one of his hands, according to the police.
