Mar 23 (NHK) - The Japan Meteorological Agency announced on Monday that cherry blossoms in Tokyo are now in full bloom.
Cherry trees in the capital came into full bloom on the same day as last year, and 12 days earlier than usual.
The Kanto region, which includes Tokyo, was mostly overcast with localized showers on Monday due to warm and damp air.
The daytime high in the region was equal to or a little higher than that of the average year.
Weather officials forecast that a high pressure system will move over the region on Tuesday, and that most of the region can expect sunny skies.
