This Japanese Restaurant Has a Real Fishing Boat Inside! | Retro Izakaya in Otaru, Hokkaido

Jan 24 (Japan by Food) - In today’s video, Shizuka Anderson visits Otaru City in Hokkaido, the northernmost prefecture of Japan, for a unique Japanese Izakaya Bar Experience.

Japanese Bar “Kasube” is an izakaya that exudes a unique retro atmosphere. It opened 50 years ago and since then it has welcomed visitors from all over Japan, as well as overseas. One of its most prominent customers is a famous Showa Era actor Ishihara Yujiro, who has been frequenting the izakaya since its opening. Izakaya Kasube offers a full “Omakase” Dinner course where you can get a taste of authentic Otaru cuisine like Yezo Sika Deer, Otaru’s Sweet Shrimp, or Hokkaido’s Dragon Fish.
