Hakuba Japan accidental powder days. The season that keeps on delivering.

Mar 06 (TJ in Hakuba) - Spring has sprung and the first week of no meaningful snowfall this season. Hey but what's that? Yep even on some smaller dumps we can still score some good lines.

These conditions would be classed as epic at a lot of resorts around the world and don't get me wrong, I reckon it is fantastic however we have been very spoiled this year with so many deep days. This week I had a couple of sessions out at Cortina. A bit more exploring and I explain at the end of the vid to take note of the snow conditions. Just a few minutes along the way to assess what the snowpack is doing. An obvious sun layer was discovered with snow on top and that should tell you to take care on any large exposed areas facing south east. Check out the "know before you go" website for more info and the Nadare avalanche report before heading out of resort. Links below.

I also had a great day out at Happo One. The snow was quite heavy but then that means it compresses easier and so a 20 cm layer is enough to keep you off the base. Even the 10cm at the bottom was fun on the last run of the morning. The cloud was coming in and out but as you can see there was some great turns to be had even on the pistes.
