The Oldest Tea House in the World! Exploring Uji Kyoto

KYOTO, Nov 21 (Japan by Food) - How much matcha is too matcha? Never enough in this Kyoto town! Shizuka travels to Uji, the birthplace of this quintessential Japanese green tea, to find out.

From a carefully prepared traditional bowl of frothy matcha, to a bowl of curry udon, she explores how Uji embraces both the historical and the new takes on matcha beverages and cuisine.

While enjoying the sights in Uji, Shizuka tries matcha noodles, gyoza, takoyaki, sweets, and of course, drinks during this matcha smorgasbord. She even visits the oldest tea shop in the world!
