Apr 07 (South China Morning Post) - A new vending machine in the rural Japanese mountain town of Semboku sells bear meat caught by local hunters.
Food shortages in the mountains in recent years have pushed bears into populated areas, resulting in 75 bear attacks across Japan in 2022. The machine’s owner, Daishi Sato, says hunting bears is a necessary form of animal control. He hopes the machine will attract new visitors to the town.
