TOKYO, Aug 07 (Japan by Food) - Have you ever wondered what a day in the life of a Japanese sushi chef looks like? Shizuka ventures to Tokyo’s historic Tsukiji Fish Market to find out just that.
Saisho Nobuhiko is a sushi master with over 20 years of experience and the proud owner of Ginza Saisho–a renowned sushi restaurant serving high-quality sushi masterpieces. Shizuka meets Saisho Nobuhiko at Tsukiji Fish Market, where their seafood adventure begins! Saisho-san schools Shizuka on all things seafood before they visit a special uni (sea urchin) vendor that happens to be a friend of his.
Next stop is a kitchenware shop! Our cheerful host, Shizuka, joins Saisho-san who is in need of a new kitchen tool. After they successfully complete their shopping mission, it’s time to head over to Ginza Saisho for a sushi-making lesson. From shaping the rice to placing the fish, Saisho-san teaches Shizuka the delicate art of making sushi before she enjoys her handmade lunch.
