Tokyo teacher facing second arrest over improper conduct with student

TOKYO, Jan 09 (News On Japan) - A teacher at a combined junior and senior high school in Tokyo has been re-arrested on charges of performing indecent acts on a male student and filming the incident.

The teacher's smartphone contained numerous indecent images of what appears to be over 15 different students. The individual re-arrested is Takuji Yoshida (29), a resident of Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture, and a teacher at a combined junior and senior high school in Tokyo.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, Yoshida is suspected of having committed indecent acts in May 2023 on a male student at the school where he worked at and of filming the acts with his smartphone. He was previously arrested in December for making the student take indecent images and send them to him via social media.

The police are investigating the possibility of additional victims, as Yoshida's smartphone and other devices held a large number of images of over 15 boys. Yoshida has reportedly remained silent during the investigation.
