NAGASAKI, Jan 23 (News On Japan) - At a dark intersection in Nagasaki last month, a car slowly turning was suddenly met by a black shadow leaping from the right.
A witness recounted, "I thought it hit a person at first. It seemed to ride over something or hit something. Then I realized a wild boar was running in front of it. It was the boar that got hit."
After colliding with the car, the boar managed to stand up and escape into the bamboo thicket beside the road.
The vehicle involved sustained a dented fender and a hole, possibly from the boar's tusks, with boar hair trapped in it.
The car, purchased just last April, is expected to incur repair costs of around 300,000 yen.
