Woman Arrested in Kyoto for Stabbing Man to Death

KYOTO - A woman who claimed to have discovered the dead body of a man in his apartment in Kyoto one week after his murder, has been arrested for stabbing to victim to death.

The suspect, 37 year old Gu Mayumi, a South Korean national, is accused of stabbing and killing Koji Mino, 68, in his apartment in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City, on June 15.

A week after the incident, Gu visited Mino's apartment and reported the discovery of the body to the police, explaining that she had visited because she had been unable to contact him.

In questioning, Gu denied the charges, stating, 'We were just having a conversation. I did not kill him.'
