TOKYO, Jul 31 (News On Japan) - Tokyo Disneyland's beloved attraction, Space Mountain, which has been a staple since the park's opening over 40 years ago, made its last run on Wednesday, July 31.
Space Mountain, one of the original attractions when Tokyo Disneyland opened in 1983, has captivated generations of visitors.
A visitor commented, 'It's been a familiar ride since I was a child, so I felt I had to ride it one last time.'
Another added, 'Having ridden it many times, it's sad to see it go.'
In 2027, the entire surrounding area will be revamped, and a new version of Space Mountain, with enhanced features and special effects, is set to be completed. The investment for this project is estimated at 56 billion yen, and it will include a plaza with light and sound performances for visitors to enjoy.
