OSAKA, Aug 15 (News On Japan) - The popular ramen shop 'Kinryu Ramen Dotonbori' in Osaka is known for its iconic dragon-shaped sign. The dragon's tail, which extends out from the wall, is a distinctive feature, and an awning is placed underneath it.
A legal dispute arose when the owner of the adjacent land claimed that the sign and awning encroached on the property boundary, leading to a lawsuit. In October last year and again in May this year, the court ordered the removal of the tail and other parts of the sign.
Kinryu Seimen, the company that operates the shop, commented, "We considered appealing to the Supreme Court, but we decided it would be too burdensome to continue with the legal proceedings. Although it is a heart-wrenching decision, we have decided to cut the dragon's tail."
