TOKYO, Oct 14 (News On Japan) - A recent survey conducted by Japan’s Sports Agency has highlighted a lack of exercise among teenage boys and girls, as well as women in their 30s and 40s.
The survey, which is conducted annually by the Japanese government, covers individuals aged 6 to 79 across the nation.
An analysis of recent fitness test scores shows that the fitness levels of teens were at their peak before the COVID-19 pandemic but have since declined.
Experts who analyzed the survey attributed this trend to the rise in screen time, such as playing games or using social media on smartphones.
Similarly, a growing lack of exercise and declining fitness have been observed among women in their 30s and 40s. Experts noted, “These women are often too busy with work, household chores, and raising children, and many also seem to have a sense of discomfort when it comes to sports.”
