KYUSHU, Apr 04 (News On Japan) - Kyushu University held its entrance ceremony on April 3rd, welcoming 2,594 new undergraduate students. As many begin living alone for the first time, they face rising living costs, with average monthly allowances increasing slightly to 72,350 yen.
Students shared concerns about loneliness, managing housework, and cooking, while some expressed excitement about their independence. Rising food prices, especially rice, and the inability to secure moving services due to a driver shortage are adding to the challenges. Parents hope their children learn the value of money while balancing part-time jobs and studies.
