Aug 02 (Kyodo) - The rainy season appears to be over in the Hokuriku and Tohoku regions in central and northeastern Japan, the weather agency said Wednesday, declaring an end to the early summer wet season throughout the Japanese archipelago.
The rainy spell started around June 21 in both regions. Japan's rainy season usually begins in May in the southern island prefecture of Okinawa, before moving up to northeastern areas except for Hokkaido, the northernmost of Japan's four main islands.
