Shizuoka Mother Arrested for Hitting Daughter Struggling with Homework

SHIZUOKA, Aug 28 (News On Japan) - A mother in her 30s has been arrested in Fujieda, Shizuoka Prefecture, for allegedly striking her elementary school-aged daughter once on the head while the child was studying at home on Saturday night.

The report came from the girl's father, who was nearby at the time.

The mother reportedly grew frustrated while overseeing her daughter’s studies and struck her in response.

The mother, who is in her 30s, stated, "I only touched her because she couldn’t do it. I didn’t hit her," denying part of the allegations.

The police, who had already received consultations regarding the mother's disciplinary methods, are continuing their investigation into the matter.
