TOKYO, May 22 (News On Japan) - Japan and South Korea will introduce priority immigration lanes for each other’s citizens at four major airports for one month starting next month, in a move aimed at shortening entry procedures and improving travel convenience between the two countries.
The dedicated lanes will be installed at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, Fukuoka Airport, Seoul’s Gimpo Airport, and Busan’s Gimhae Airport. They will be available to passengers arriving between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. who have visited the other country within the past year.
The Japanese government announced the plan as part of efforts to facilitate smoother travel for frequent flyers between the two neighboring nations. The initiative reflects deepening cooperation on border control efficiency and may serve as a model for further easing of entry procedures in the future.
