Apr 29 (TabiEats) - Japan has many themed restaurants, but this one really surprised us.
We were invited to Thermae, a bathhouse themed izakaya in Tokyo inspired by Japan’s sento culture. At first glance, it almost feels like stepping into a public bathhouse, but instead of bathwater, the taps on the wall pour alcoholic drinks such as shochu and liqueur based drinks.
Some of the food is served in bath bucket shaped dishes, and even the cocktails come in milk bottles, a playful nod to the drinks people often enjoy after taking a bath in Japan.
