Apr 07 (NHK) - The Japan Wrestling Federation says its director has resigned for harassing 4-time Olympic champion Kaori Icho.
The resignation came after a team of third-party investigators determined that the group's development director, Kazuhito Sakae, harassed Icho and her coach.
The federation accepted Sakae's resignation on Friday.
The group's head, Tomiaki Fukuda, apologized to Icho and her coach after receiving the team's report.
The investigators began looking into the alleged harassment after a letter of complaint was sent in January to a Cabinet Office committee that oversees the wrestling organization.
They submitted their report to the federation on Thursday after interviewing those involved in the case, including Icho and Sakae.
