May 09 (NHK) - Major Japanese airline group ANA Holdings says it will suspend recruitment of students graduating next spring, as the end of the coronavirus pandemic is not yet in sight.
The group's major carrier All Nippon Airways has been forced to cancel or reduce about 90 percent of its international and domestic flights because air travel has been restricted amid the pandemic.
The group says its 37 companies are suspending the recruitment due to difficulties in drawing up business plans.
The companies, including budget carrier Peach Aviation, started their process of candidate selection, with plans to hire about 3,200 recruits next spring.
Some of the firms have already given tentative job offers to about 600 vocational school students graduating next year. ANA Holdings says the offers remain valid.
The group says resuming recruitment will depend on development of the pandemic and its possible impact on their business.
