Man Arrested for Assaulting Woman After Following Bus on Motorcycle

TOKYO, Aug 26 (News On Japan) - A 29-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman in her 40s after following her on a motorcycle as she disembarked from a bus in Hachioji City, Tokyo.

The suspect, Rikiya Naito, an executive at a construction company in Hachioji City, was taken into custody on suspicion of causing injury during an indecent act without consent.

Naito is accused of chasing the woman for several meters after she got off the bus late at night on July 4th, pushing her down, and causing injuries such as bruises to her right elbow.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, Naito had no prior acquaintance with the woman. He allegedly followed the bus on his motorcycle for several minutes, waited for the woman to disembark alone, and then attacked her in a back alley.

Naito has partially denied the allegations, claiming that his intent was not indecent.

In a separate incident in Hachioji City, another woman was also attacked after getting off a bus. The police are investigating a possible connection between the two cases.
