Deer Dashes Through Central Sapporo

SAPPORO, May 13 (News On Japan) - A deer was repeatedly sighted in central Sapporo on the morning of May 13th, prompting police to patrol the area and urge caution.

The sightings occurred in Chuo Ward, Sapporo, including near Kita 3-jo Nishi 13-chome. Around 8:40 a.m., a witness reported that a female deer had entered the grounds of an apartment complex. Video footage shows the deer running off toward the east.

Earlier the same morning, around 4:30 a.m., another deer was spotted on a road west of the Hokkaido University Botanical Garden. A separate video captured the animal attempting to jump over a fence.

No injuries have been reported so far. Police continue to patrol nearby streets and are warning residents and commuters to remain alert.
