OSAKA, May 16 (News On Japan) - Two 16-year-old girls have been referred to prosecutors on suspicion of obstructing business operations after drinking tea directly from a shared pitcher at a Sukiya beef bowl restaurant in Osaka.
According to investigative sources, the incident occurred in February at a Sukiya branch in Chuo Ward, Osaka. The girls allegedly placed their mouths directly on a tabletop pitcher used for communal tea and drank from it, prompting the restaurant to wash the pitcher and thereby interfering with operations.
A video capturing the act was posted on social media, which led police to identify the girls through the footage and other information.
A Sukiya spokesperson commented, "We cannot tolerate behavior that compromises the safety and enjoyment of our customers. We will respond firmly to such disruptive acts."
