Nov 13 (NHK) - The Imperial Palace grounds in Tokyo will be partially opened to the public early next month for autumn foliage viewing.
The Imperial Household Agency announced on Monday that the general public will be invited to Inui Street in the palace compounds between December 1st and 9th.
The 600-meter street has been open to the public since 2015 for viewing cherry blossoms in spring and vibrant leaves in autumn.
About 70 maple trees line both sides of the street. The colors of their leaves are expected to be at their most vibrant during the open period.
Visitors are expected to enter the compound from the Sakashita Gate and exit from the Inui gate. Visiting hours are 9 AM to 3 PM.
