Teen Couple Arrested in Stabbing of 50-Year-Old Ex-Boyfriend

FUKUOKA, Aug 10 (News On Japan) - A 50-year-old man was attacked near Hakata Station in Fukuoka City on August 6th, leaving him with facial injuries. Approximately an hour later, a 15-year-old boy was arrested for possessing a knife, followed by the arrest of a teenage girl.

The pair, who came from Oita Prefecture, were both students in the same high school. The victim, a resident of Funabashi City in Chiba Prefecture, is currently unemployed.

The boy and girl reportedly started dating in May. Meanwhile, the girl had met the victim, her ex-boyfriend, through social media last autumn and had been consulting him about her problems even after their relationship ended. They had arranged to meet at Hakata Station on the evening of the incident. According to sources, the girl and the boy had a discussion where she suggested, “If you want to stop me from meeting him, kill him.”

Around 8:30 PM on the 6th, the girl met the man at Hakata Station and led him toward a secluded alley. The boy was following closely behind. At one point, the man, noticing he was being followed, confronted the boy after they all entered a convenience store. The man reportedly asked, “Who are you, and why are you following us?”

After leaving the store, the boy allegedly attacked the man with a knife, aiming for his face, right arm, and back. The police are investigating the incident as an attempted murder, suspecting that the girl may have instigated the boy to kill her ex-boyfriend.
