Policeman Nabbed Stealing Underwear from Apartment Balcony

CHIBA, Aug 10 (News On Japan) - A male police officer in his 20s from the Chiba Prefectural Police has been arrested on suspicion of stealing women’s underwear from an apartment in Narashino City, Chiba Prefecture.

Ishikawa Kota, an officer from the Kashiwa Police Station, is suspected of stealing a piece of underwear that was hung on the first-floor balcony of an apartment where a teenage woman resides in Narashino City in February.

According to the police, Ishikawa became a suspect during an investigation into a voyeurism case involving another woman, which led to his involvement in this theft case coming to light.

At the time, Ishikawa was assigned to the community affairs division and was on leave on the day of the incident.

The police stated that Ishikawa had no prior acquaintance with the woman.

During questioning, Ishikawa admitted to the charges, stating, 'It is true that I committed the theft.'
