Saitama Hair Salon Thief on the Loose

Saitama, Aug 20 (News On Japan) - A string of thefts targeting 10 hair salons in Saitama Prefecture has been linked to a man with distinct characteristics, who was captured on security cameras at several locations.

On the morning of August 15th, approximately 220,000 yen in cash was stolen from a safe at a hair salon in Tsurugashima City.

Over the course of four days, ending on August 18th, ten hair salons in the surrounding area reported being targeted, with more than one million yen in total stolen.

Subsequent investigations revealed that a medium-built man was caught on security cameras at multiple locations during the time of the thefts.

Police believe that the same individual may be responsible for all the incidents, as several of the salons were broken into using tools to destroy doors and other entry points. Investigations are ongoing.
