KOBE, Aug 26 (News On Japan) - As the Shichi-Go-San season approaches, preparations are already underway at Ikuta Shrine in Kobe City, where Miko are diligently packing chitose candy into special bags.
On the 25th, at Ikuta Shrine in Chuo Ward, Kobe City, Miko dressed in traditional hakama carefully packed each red and white candy into custom bags, praying for the healthy growth of children.
According to the shrine, Shichi-Go-San celebrations traditionally take place on November 15th, but in recent years, more families have opted to visit the shrine earlier to avoid crowds, extending the season from September to November.
Ikuta Shrine, which accepts visitors year-round, expects over 3,000 groups to visit this year and has prepared 4,000 bags of chitose candy in anticipation.
