TOKYO, Sep 18 (News On Japan) - Japan Airlines announced disciplinary measures against 37 executives, including President Mitsuko Tottori, after three flights were delayed due to a captain’s alcohol consumption. The move represents an unprecedented action, covering all directors and executive officers.
Tottori’s monthly salary will be cut by 30 percent for two months, while the Senior Managing Director in charge of safety, the Safety Manager, and the Flight Operations Director will see their pay reduced by 20 percent for one month.
The airline stated that the measures reflect its determination to reinforce compliance and prevent a recurrence of similar incidents.
