SAPPORO, Oct 06 (News On Japan) - A security camera installed at a home in Sapporo’s Nishi Ward captured three bears, including two cubs, walking through a forested area on October 5th, prompting police to heighten their alert.
The footage, taken at a residence in the Nishino 8-jo 10-chome area, showed three bears—one adult and two cubs—moving near the edge of the woods behind the house. The homeowner discovered the footage in the morning and reported it to the police. No injuries or damage have been reported.
In the same ward, a man walking his dog was attacked by a bear in a park on September 26th, and several other sightings have been reported since. Authorities have issued a “bear alert” for the area, urging residents to remain vigilant as police step up patrols.
