USJ's 'Spider-Man' Attraction Closes After 20 Years of Tingling Senses

OSAKA, Jan 22 (News On Japan) - Universal Studios Japan (USJ) is drawing the curtain on one of its most popular attractions, marking the end of a 20-year journey.

The 'Amazing Adventure of Spider-Man - The Ride' was built in 2004 with an investment of approximately 14 billion yen. In 2013, the attraction underwent a significant upgrade, revamped with ultra-high-definition 4K 3D visuals, synchronized ride motion, and over 100 types of special effects.

Over its two-decade history, the Spider-Man ride has been experienced by more than 100 million visitors. However, today marks its final day of operation.

USJ cites the need for continuous evolution and growth of the park experience as the reason for its closure. The future use of the site where the Spider-Man attraction currently stands remains undecided.
