Universitas Menambah Kuota Penerimaan Mahasiswa "Khusus Perempuan"

Mar 08 (News On Japan) - Dalam upaya untuk meningkatkan pendaftaran siswa perempuan di bidang sains dan teknik, semakin banyak universitas di Jepang yang memperkenalkan kuota penerimaan "khusus perempuan".

Proses penerimaan mahasiswa "khusus perempuan" ini beroperasi secara terpisah dari penerimaan umum dan mengincar siswa perempuan melalui rekomendasi sekolah, tinjauan dokumen, dan wawancara. Tujuannya adalah mengatasi ketidakseimbangan gender di departemen sains dan teknik yang didominasi oleh laki-laki serta memastikan keberagaman di lingkungan universitas.

Sebuah yayasan yang mempromosikan kemajuan perempuan dalam sains mencatat bahwa jumlah universitas yang menerapkan penerimaan mahasiswa "khusus perempuan" meningkat. Pada tahun akademik 2024, sebanyak 40 universitas di seluruh Jepang, termasuk Universitas Sains Tokyo dan Universitas Nagoya, mengadopsi inisiatif ini.
