TOKYO, Jul 10 (News On Japan) - The Nikkei Stock Average closed at 41,831 yen today, marking a record high for the second consecutive day.
In today's Tokyo stock market, the Nikkei Stock Average finished trading 251 yen higher than yesterday at 41,831 yen, setting a new all-time high for the second day in a row. Additionally, the Tokyo Stock Price Index (TOPIX), which reflects the overall price movement of major listed companies, also reached a record high of 2,909.20 points at the close. Financial stocks were the primary driver behind this surge.
Today, in the domestic bond market, long-term interest rates temporarily rose to 1.09%. The expectation that they will continue to rise led to a surge in buy orders for financial stocks, such as banks and insurance companies, which are anticipated to see improved earnings.
