Hideyoshi Strikes Back - Sengoku Jidai Documentary

Nov 27 (Kings and Generals) - The history of Japan continues with a new series on Sengoku Jidai. This episode describes early campaigns of Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and the battles of Okehazama, Inabayama, Kanegasaki, Nagashima, Tottori and Takamatsu.

Akechi Mitsuhide's betrayal of Nobunaga at the Honnō-ji Incident, led to the conflict between him and Hideyoshi and the battle of Yamazaki. In the aftermath, Oda Nobunaga's inheritance came into question, leading to the battle of Shizugatake.

A strong earthquake hit Ishikawa Prefecture, central Japan, at around 10: 47 p.m. on Tuesday. The quake registered an intensity of lower 5 on the Japanese seismic scale of 0 to 7. No tsunami was observed. There are no reports of damage caused by the earthquake. (NHK)
