OSAKA - The 2025 World Expo opened its doors this Sunday (13) in the city of Osaka, Kansai, Japan - with the aim of emphasizing future technologies and harmony in a world facing “countless divisions”.

Around 160 countries and regions participate in this event, held regularly since the mid-19th century as a showcase of diverse techniques, knowledge and cultures from around the world.

Osaka Expo 2025 runs until October 13 on the artificial island of Yumeshima, in the bay of Osaka, the third most populous city in the country.

Organizers hope to repeat the success of the 1970 edition in the same city, which had a major impact on Japan at the height of its economic boom.

In these uncertain times of change and division, the theme chosen this time is “the society of the future”, with an emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI) and space technology.

Typhoon No. 25 Threatens Kanto and Izu Islands
