SAPPORO, Nov 19 (News On Japan) - Hokkaido hosted a company briefing session in Sapporo aimed at students and career changers on November 19th as part of an effort to energize the region’s space-related industries.
Kawase Yuya reported from the venue that companies operating in the field are stepping up recruitment efforts as they seek new talent to sustain the industry’s growth.
The event, titled SPACE GATEWAY 2025 in HOKKAIDO, was organized by the prefectural government to promote the space sector. Five companies, including those involved in the use of satellite data, took part and held explanatory sessions for attendees.
A representative from one of the participating firms noted that the number of domestically produced satellites is gradually increasing, adding that they hope to see nationwide expansion of space-related industries.
Now in its third year, the fair is part of Hokkaido’s broader push to raise interest in space-related careers and encourage more people to join the field.
