The rapeseed blooms are located in a field near the shore of Lake Biwa in Moriyama City, where approximately 12,000 plants dye the area a vibrant yellow. This stunning display forms a beautiful contrast against the white, snow-covered Hira mountain range in the background.
These winter-blooming rapeseed plants are cultivated by local seniors from the Silver Human Resources Center as a seasonal tradition. Visitors are treated to an early taste of spring amidst the snowy landscape.
A visitor commented, "It feels like spring with all these rapeseed flowers blooming, even though there's snow. It's truly beautiful."
The rapeseed flowers are expected to remain a sight to behold until mid-February, offering a unique and picturesque experience of early spring in the region.
