HYOGO, Apr 14 (News On Japan) - Prime Minister Ishiba met with top executives from companies affected by U.S. tariff measures, including the president of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and emphasized the government’s commitment to negotiations and domestic support measures.
During a roundtable held in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, Ishiba sat down with the president of Kawasaki Heavy Industries and other business leaders to discuss the impact of tariffs imposed by the Trump administration.
Ishiba said: "I will return from today’s discussion with valuable insights that will help us build a strong case in negotiations with the United States."
While noting that the removal of the tariffs "will take some time," Ishiba stressed the importance of reflecting on-the-ground concerns, stating, "We intend to respond appropriately as a government, particularly regarding cash flow and employment at affected companies."
