Kyoto Teacher Dismissed After Arrest for Filming Female Student

KYOTO, Oct 08 (News On Japan) - The Kyoto Prefectural Board of Education has dismissed a 39-year-old junior high school teacher from Nagaokakyo City who was arrested on suspicion of secretly filming a female student in his classroom.

According to the board, the teacher, employed at a municipal junior high school in Nagaokakyo, was dismissed on October 7th after his arrest in September for allegedly placing a hidden camera disguised as a mobile battery inside the classroom to film a female student changing clothes.

The teacher issued a statement saying, "I deeply regret having committed an act that betrayed the trust placed in public education."
