Jan 08 (News On Japan) - Young Japanese turning twenty this year celebrate their official rite of passage at various Coming of Age Day events across the country wearing formal suits and kimonos.
Today, the 8th, is "Seijinshiki" (成人式), an event where youths who have turned 20 years old are formally declared mature members of their community. Boys dress up in suits or hakama, girls dress up in fancy furisode kimono, and everyone gets drunk. Ah, youth. pic.twitter.com/V6LCGIrO07
